Project Approach Curriculum

A project is an in-depth investigation of a specific topic with the main goals of finding out more about the topic rather than to seek answers to questions proposed by the teacher.

The questions to be addressed and investigated during the project are generated and developed by the students.

Our Project Approach curriculum provides an enriching setting designed to enhance each child's development by inviting the child to explore, discover, and learn. Open-ended activities and choices help students interact with peers, encourage self-help and language skills. The curriculum is created with the understanding that students accomplish developmental milestones at their own pace and recorded in their daily journals.

YES's Project Approach philosophy is based on three key elements;
exploration, investigation, and experimentation which can be achieved by six areas of learning:
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
Communication, Language, and literacy
Physical Development.
Mathematical Development
Creative Development.

Thematic units are integrated and used to bring together the different strands of the project approach curriculum. Each month, a different theme is introduced through which the objectives of the learning areas are achieved. The contents of the theme differ by grade in which different vocabularies must be recognized, understood, and memorized.
